Why This Recipe Works

  • By using frozen puff pastry, we eliminate the need to make the pastry from scratch, making the recipe much more efficient.
  • The key to achieving the perfect golden-brown color is to brush the pastry with a mixture of egg and water before baking.
  • Using a combination of sharp cheddar and parmesan cheese adds a rich, tangy flavor to the pastry.

Key Ingredients

For this recipe, we recommend using frozen puff pastry, which can be found in most supermarkets. If you’re looking for more information on how to make puff pastry from scratch, check out the recipe tutorials on Epicurious.

When it comes to sausage, we prefer to use a classic pork sausage, but you can also experiment with other types, such as chorizo or breakfast sausage.
